Labeled as ‘a master of colour’ and known as one of Denmarks most innovative, creative and colourful furniture and interior designers to exist in the 20th century, Verner Panton is well known for his ability to experiment with psychedelic interiors, which weren’t the norm.
First an experienced artist, he attended the Royal Danish Academy of Art, where he graduated from Architecture in 1951. After being labeled in the workforce as an unorthodox successful genius, he went out on his own and went onto create some of the most futuristic, unconventional designs, which are still being produced and loved by many today. Some of his most famous are the Panton Chair, the Shell Table Lamp and the Cone Chair.
“Choosing colours should not be a gamble. It should be a conscious decision. Colours have a meaning and a function.” Verner Panton
